These days there are a lot of small cars pounding their chests and claiming they get the best gas mileage around. Well, we got tired of the talk and decided to settle the score. Right here, right now!
We picked three cars from our long-term fleet known for squeezing extra miles out of every gallon of gas: the spunky 2008 Smart Fortwo with a 1.0-liter, three-cylinder engine, the thrifty 2008 Ford Focus SES coupe with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine and a 2005 Volkswagen Jetta TDI, with its legendary 1.9-liter "TDI" diesel engine. Then we added a heavily favored gasoline-electric hybrid to the mix: a 2008 Toyota Prius.

Keep whining.
Fox - very small
Polo - small
Golf/Jetta - medium
Passat - big
Phaeton - very big
Magnesium from Canada, (Have you seen the Mines and the Sulfur they chuck out)
Brought to europe to refine, then to China to process, all before the "exacting enviroment conditions" in Japan
Did you know that the full Enviroment cost of a prius (including fuel) over its lifetime is greater than a Land Rover Discovery !
The Enviroment Cost of the Magnesuim in the Battery's alone would be more than The total cost of a Fiat 500
Sulfur gets chucked out of volcanoes.
The Prius battery is actually quite small, and uses nickel metal hydride technology that was developed as an environmentally better alternative to the NICAD cell.
The EV1 was a brillient idea, and should'nt have been shelved, combined with solar technology, as thing's move forward would have had a long term future, The prius is a total different fish, not economical, or Green, a great marketing ploy only, it DOES cause more long term damage than modern Petrol cars, and way more than small engine european cars.
Bio Diesel from waste cooking oil is a practicle short term option, as are fully electric cars, and Hydrogen has to be the future.
It was the only that wasn't a Hybrid, Miniature or Diesel.
poor shits. keep damaging the environment. by wasting more a energy to (make this car) recycle the battery and to ship them to USA how mush does it cost on environment ?
all you do is think about you pocket . i love small engine cars but when some ugly and poor prius driver talks shit about others you gotta tell them (you r the #1 energy wasting person) in a long run
Ford - the only good thing is - it's cheap :)
Prius - simply GAY. And is not THAT economical, when compared to VW! :)
VW diesel - the best. Looks good, comfortable, econimical.
