NAPOLITANO AT REASON IN DC
Fox News legal analyst Judge Andrew Napolitano is among the fiercest defenders of individual rights. Both in his daily appearances on the country's most-watched cable news network and in a series of books (most recently, A Nation of Sheep), Napolitano consistently and defiantly argues that the only legitimate government is that which respects its citizens rights in all cases.
In late October, Napolitano gave the keynote address at the conference Reason in DC, where he delivered a spellbinding speech that blended a masterful understanding of American history with a blazing outrage at the excesses of the new security state. "Who is the greatest violator of the Constitution?" asks Napolitano. "George W. Bush has shown less fidelity to the Constitution than any president since Abraham Lincoln."

Ron Paul Excluded from Fox News Forum

Republican fund raising frontrunner Ron Paul will be excluded from a Fox News Forum scheduled for just two days before the New Hampshire Primary.
Paul's campaign said that according to the New Hampshire State Republican Party and an Associated Press report, Republican presidential candidate and Texas Congressman Ron Paul will be excluded from an upcoming forum of Republican candidates to be broadcast by Fox News on January 6, 2008. The decision appears to have been made by Fox News.
"Given Ron Paul's support in New Hampshire and his recent historic fundraising success, it is outrageous that Dr. Paul would be excluded," said Ron Paul 2008 campaign chairman Kent Snyder. "Dr. Paul has consistently polled higher in New Hampshire than some of the other candidates who have been invited."
Snyder continued, "Paul supporters should know that we are continuing to make inquiries with Fox News as to why they have apparently excluded Dr. Paul from this event."

The states did have the right, okay? I know it seems unfair to you, but there's a lot of unfair things in this world protected by the law.
Take Bill Gates. He made a fortune by monopolizing the computer industry. He was in charge of Microsoft spying on Apple and stealing one of their genius ideas before it was even introduced to the market (which, might I add, made Microsoft rich.)
That doesn't make him a criminal. That doesn't mean we can just blast his door down and take all of his money.

The top people in the California Teachers Association give themselves EXTREMELY expensive summer vacations, courtesy of the teachers off of whose paychecks they get deducted. Anyone on the board who says anything against them gets kicked out so he/she can't say anymore.

Ron Paul said Lincoln was wrong to use force to stop slavery. Thats what the man said. Therefore, he puts a state's right to have slavery -- even though he himself is against slavery -- over anyone's right to stop slavery.
In other words -- Paul claims states can have slavery, and no one can stop them.

The pharmaceuticals pass out drugs BEFORE they're tested. They even lobby so that these medications are mandatory. People die because of it.
Does the Supreme Court have the right to make selling all untested drugs illegal?
Does the Supreme Court have the right to pass laws against corporations?
The right to dismantle and choose the leadership of the teachers unions?
Do they have the right to outlaw unhealthy food?
Or infringe on the banks' rights to charge SUPER HIGH interest rates on loans?

Responding to this one: Not can have. Could have. Ron Paul's not calling for a return to slavery, so what's it matter to you MDC? So, he believes the states had the right to do those things; that's just his interpretation of the Constitution. It doesn't make him a bad candidate for president.
You act like Ron Paul is horrible because of it, but the truth is, it can't hurt anyone that he believes that way. The whole matter is in the past.

True... but the alternative to Ron Paul doesn't look pretty. Either John McCain, who supports interference with whatever countries we darn well please, or Obama, who's made no real accomplishment and is relying on "character" to get elected.
So, Ron Paul believes it could have been solved without force. That's one of the few things I disagree with Ron Paul on. (After Bleeding Kansas and Fort Sumter, it's pretty clear there was nothing anyone could have done to stop the Civil War.)

I disagree with McCain on his foreign policy, and that's a big issue. I disagree with Obama on abortion, gun control, and "separation of church and state" and those concern our freedoms of religion and right to defend ourselves.

True. According to history, the war was inevitable. And even though Lincoln is remembered as being the one who freed the slaves,
"If I could end the war without freeing a single slave, I would do so. If I could end the war and free all the slaves, I would do so."
His commitment was to ending the bloodshed between South and North.

No Ron Paul isnt horrible, sorry if I gave that impression. I like Paul on some things -- honesty, and he knows we can't borrow our way to prosperity.
Slavery is in the past -- but understanding who has rights is not. People have rights. States are constructs in your head. I'd rather have someone more intelligent about such things than Dr. Paul

None. I never said they would. Dr Paul is anti slavery. But if a state decided to enact slavery -- he thinks no one has a right to use force to stop that. I think a lot of people have a right to use force to stop it - including the slaves themselves.

Perhaps the slaves and the people have those rights, but then again, that's the debate between Federalists and--I think-- Democratic-Republicans that goes WAY back in time; whether the states aught to have more rights or the Federal government. That goes back to Jefferson, Madison and Washington. That's one of the debates that formed our Constitution!

You're a Federalist. That's clear. And I don't hold it against you. I'll need to look it up to see exactly who, but a lot of great minds were Federalists. The same goes for the Democratic-Republicans. Apparently Ron Paul is more Democratic-Republican. The Constitution doesn't help much here actually...

This leaves it open to debate, which, I believe, is exactly what the Founding Fathers wanted. Because I believe--and I don't know how many other people watching this video believe this--but I believe that this nation was "conceived in Liberty and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal." That's a slippery slope right there. First of all, Ron Paul would be considered a Libertarian on most of his views. He believes that people should have the freedom to do as they please so long as it does not infringe on others personal freedoms. So since slavery forces people into a submissive state, Ron Paul would not allow any state to grossly cause any such injustices to an individuals freedom. Please, make your arguments logical.
